Due to its geographical location, in the heart of the Andes Mountains, Patagonia has a "mountain" climate. Many restaurants offer wood-fired grills. The asado is an integral part of Argentine gastronomy. Different kinds of meat, sausages and mutton are grilled on a spit. The reputation of Argentine meat is well established. For those who wish to vary the menu, it is possible to turn to empanadas. These small turnovers filled with vegetables, fish or meat are simply excellent. You can also try Locro, a dish that can be prepared vegetarian with sweet potatoes, corn and other vegetables. But perhaps you'll choose the Ahumado, a starter with cheese, fruit, trout and smoked meat. For a touch of sweetness, you will also find some very good ice creams and delicious chocolates.
